Mecanum wheels, also known as omni wheels, consist of a hub with rollers oriented 45° to the axis of rotation. The Mecanum wheels are wheel hubs fitted with integrated rollers that move passively and independently.

Depending on which wheels rotate in which direction, the platform will move forward, backward, sideways, diagonally, or spin in place. This range of maneuverability enables the Omni Platform to efficiently navigate any space, particularly around tight corners, narrow lanes, and complex pathways.

This omnidirectional robot car learning kit, designed for both Arduino and Raspberry Pi. With the powerful Mecanum wheels, the car can perform more advanced movements, such as sideways shifting and diagonal motion, controlled via a mobile phone or tablet app.

When using an Arduino Mega2560, it includes all the essential features of a traditional Arduino robot car, such as Bluetooth remote control, IoT functionality via Wi-Fi, line tracking, and obstacle avoidance autonomous driving.

When using a Raspberry Pi, it offers many of the same features as an Arduino-based robot car, including line tracking, obstacle avoidance autonomous driving, and follow mode, while also supporting network video-based control.
