Here, we will demonstrate how to use this kit to make a remote family message board. We can send messages from OSOYOO IoT UDP APP to this message board remotely .
First, please plug OSOYOO MEGA-IoT Extension Board into MEGA2560 board:
Build the circuit as below:
If you haven’t install following libraries in previous lessons, You also need to download them from following link:
In Arduino IDE, click Sketch->Include Library ->Add .ZIP library and upload the library zip files to the IDE.
If you have completed installation of all the libraries required, then you can go to next stage:
Download and Edit Lesson2-6 Arduino Code file
Step 1 Download the code from following link, unzip it:
Step 2 After above operations are completed, connect OSOYOO MEGA2560 Board to PC with USB cable.
Step 3 Open Arduino IDE: Choose corresponding board type and port type for you project.
Step 4 Arduino IDE: Click file – Open, then choose code in the folder, load up the sketch onto your Arduino.
Open the code file and replace *** with your wifi ssid/password
char ssid = "***";//replace this line with your wifi ssid char pass = "***"; //replace this line with your wifi password
please replace the *** with your correct wifi SSID and password, otherwise your project can not connect to Internet.
Upload the sketch to the board. Wait until you see the Arduino’s IP address in Serial Monitor. You will also see your Arduino board’s IP address in LCD display.
APP Installation and Setting:
Step 1) If you haven’t installed OSOYOO IoT Robot APP, please search OSOYOO IoT Robot Car APP in Google Play or Apple Store to install this APP.
You read following tutorial link for more information about APP install :
Step 2):Make sure your Cell phone is in the same Local Network of Arduino. Open the APP, click Settings, enter your Arduino IP address from Step F and Port to 8888 in settings:
Step 3), Now change the F1 key value from letter “F” to “Hello Alice!” ,
You also need to change the Target IP address to match the Arduino IP address.
then click Save button to save the change.
Click F1 key, a pre-defined message “Hello Alice!” will be sent to remote Arduino and your Arduino LCD will display something like this:
192.168.1.75 is the IP address of your cell phone which tells you where the message comes from.
In your cell phone APP , you will see something like this:
Hello Alice! to 192.168.1.68
Above is the recognizing message sent from Arduino.
You can try to change Setting F2 value to “Happy Birthday!”, then press F2 key and see what will be displayed in LCD.
